This brand is about as close to the Penrose sausages that I can find. Theres no weird aftertaste like you find with some.Ive tried several other brands and I keep coming back. Pair it with a glass of Chardonnay and theyre even better. Try them!!
Grew up on pickled sausages bought at the corner store. So this is both culinary and déjà Vu .;) After the sausages are eaten, we like to put in cauliflower, carrots and celery with whole red peppers and pickle them along with a few more sausages in the same liquid for what they call "hot giardeniare" down South.You can pickle your own sausages, but it's tricky to get the taste, texture and the pickling just right and these guys get it right. :)
Very fresh and tasty, had a bit more salt then I prefer. I'm just a no salt type person though.
These are awesome Taste closest to Penrose pickled sausage which I miss but This is the closest to them. Little pricey but I love them!
