Don't be misled by the name. This is great stuff. Lathers really well, nice scent, leaves no residue. Feels clean,not treated with something oily or creamy.

Just learned that this witch hazel soap existed and immediately purchased. The soap has clean ingredients, smells great and suds up so well that my skin feels not only soft but clean !! . I am thoroughly pleased and impressed.

I was using another product from another company for long time, but it went out of business. I wanted a body cleansing product with witch hazel. I have search the "world over" for it too. Finally, I have found the company that sells a body soap with witch hazel that has far exceeded my expectations! New customer here! From now on, I will do business with Grandpa's body cleansing products. They are superior compared to other company's products that I have tried. Good day!

Soap does well to clean without having fragrance added.

Pretty good. Like the scent. The bars don’t last a very long time, so keep that in mind.

My son has very sensitive skin and this bar is mild enough for him. He also itches and will get sores from this. It stopped this too. Worth the money!

This soap has an incredibly strong scent in bar form, but does not linger so do not be turned off by it. This soap feels wonderful on my skin and does not dry it out or leave it oily. I have both dry skin and acne issues that have cropped up in recent years and this is helping to get rid of it. I will most definitely be buying this again.

The soap in the lavender box is NOT the same as the old witch hazel soap in the green box. The soap in the green box was far superior in fragrance and lather and it didn't leave a residue on the shelf in my shower. This new soap does not have the same clean fragrance and it definitely leaves a residue. Why did Grandpa's change their witch hazel soap? I too am now on the hunt for a new soap. I loved the old soap in the green box, but do not love this new "imposter" witch hazel soap in the lavender-colored box!

I was reading what people had to say about the "sterile" smell that witch hazel has, but I personally really like the smell. It does have a sterile smell, but in a good way, like, "you have good hygiene and smell clean" sort of smell. It makes my skin feel awesome as well.

Ok,why do some people say it smells like sulfur? It does NOT. It smells like an old timey soap. Not flowery or fruity. Just clean. Next,it doesn't dry my skin out. And the best...it helps control stinkies. I work in a warehouse with no a/c so you can imagine how hot it is in there on hot summer days. I didn't smell my own sweat!!! : ) : )

I LOVE this soap. The scent is wonderfully "clean". Excellent product! ... HOWEVER I have ordered this twice more and both times, including the shipment I received today, I got LAVENDER AGAIN. I like lavender but now have more bars than I know what to do with and am returning this order. The box of soap shown in the picture is what it SHOULD be ... but I keep receiving the purple boxes of soap.

I bought this thinking it was shaving soap (for use with a brush during wet shaving), so I was a bit disappointed when I got it and realized it was not what I expected.However, this soap is freakishly good at cleaning your hands and face. I have never used a soap that cleaned as well or as quickly as this does. I use it before shaving when my face is particularly oily or dirty. Aside from that, I often use it for everyday hand cleaning.It has a moderate astringent effect on your face. I find it pleasing, but YMMV. I'm neutral about the scent. It neither bothers, nor pleases me. Mostly, I'm just impressed with how well it cleans.

I like this soap. I am almost out of it, its time to order more. I like the clean feeling when I use it. I would recommend it to my friends.

One of my family members has very sensitive skin, and witch hazel is good for it. When we found this product, we weren't sure it would be as helpful, but it is wonderful. Very gentle, has a great aroma, and is helping keep his skin in good shape. It's no more expensive than any specialty bar, and worth it.

You cant beat Grandpa's soap for quality and a high level of performance. This has a mild, fresh smell and lathers very well. I use it after I use my sulfur or Carbolic Acid soap on my Hot Spots. Contains all vegetable ingredients including Witch Hazel Extract and a hint of Ginger. My seller out of Texas was superlative and I received my order in just two business days.

Grandpa's Witch Hazel soap was something I came across in my search for witch hazel products that weren't insanely expensive cosmetics. I had heard that the extract was good for people who have adult acne, which I do. While it is definitely a more expensive soap than your basic grocery store brands, it's not terribly more money, and I like it enough that I don't mind paying a bit more. It smells nice but isn't over powering, and feels like it delivers a deep clean. It definitely smells better than straight up witch hazel in a bottle.I won't say it's cured my problem but I do think when used regularly, it helps with my breakouts. It's also partly glycerine which I like over a lot of other soaps that have funky oils in them. It's slightly more drying to the skin if you don't moisturize afterword, but compared to antibacterial soaps I have used in the past, it's not bad at all.

I've been buying this soap for 20 years. I found it while going to college in Berkeley. I used to have a hard time finding this soap, but since I've found it on line, I buy it in bulk several times a year so we never run out. My husband is also a big fan. It helps keep my skin from breaking out too badly. Washes away cleanly. No wierd smell. Very nice.
