I am 80, been shaving a long time. This razor and absolutely the blades are the most superior product I have ever used.The blades just last and last. with a medium rough beard. Clean and dry blade between shaves for longer life.

First disclaimer - I switched to using a traditional DE safety razor 11 years ago and haven't looked back. In many respects, this review will be a comparison, Gillette vs Gillette, two different eras.Second disclaimer - I am biased against exponential blade usage. I had great results with Trac II, a slight improvement with Mach3, and noticeably poorer performance with 5-6 blade models. The Mach3 remains the standard by which all others are measured when comparing cartridge performance. Cram a few more blades in there and you get clogging, a bulky unwieldy head that isn't nimble, and not even one improvement over 3. Not one. zilch, nada. It's a gimmick.Now to the razor -Made in Mexico.The handle is perfect. It's metal with soft plastic grip points in key places. It has perfect balance, so I never found that I was torquing or applying too much pressure. The connection point and locking mechanism for the cartridge is simple and functional, and should be very easy to clean and keep gunk-free over a decade, which is how long I made a Mach3 handle last.The blades are perfectly balanced between sharp and smooth. No tugging, just a crisp clean cut with no strays, all with very light pressure. I have yet to find a Gillette blade I didn't like, and for DE users, this cartridge feels like Astra SS or Nacet. With Mach3, I always (whether I liked it or not) got a month out of a cartridge, so I expect the marketing claims of 1 month per Fusion5 cartridge to be accurate. We all understand physics enough to know that the first blade does 90% of the work, and when it's dull it doesn't matter what the remaining 4 are like - it will be an unpleasant experience at best. I know from experience that Mach3, Astra SS/SP and Nacet will all give me a full month easily, so I expect this Fusion5 to provide a month's shaves.How does it compare with other cartridge shavers? It compares equally with the latest greatest Harry's Plus, which runs a bit less expensive. I like Bic One blade but am not quite as fond of the 5-blade, so this Fusion5 is better. Dorco are cheaper, but this is justifiably more expensive because it is better.The shaves are quick and effortless. If I still commuted, I would probably use a cart more often because the shave is 95% perfect, and super quick. I don't commute, so the extra 15 minutes to get that remaining 5% are worth it in most cases to stick with a DE.

It saves you from having to spend a fortune at a local pharmacy or grocery store just to get a close, comfortable shave and stock up on enough blades to last for months.It is incredibly easy to use right out of the package. You do not have to mess around with confusing twist mechanisms or fight with a cheap, lightweight handle that completely refuses to grip securely when your hands are covered in shaving cream. The blade snaps securely right onto the handle, making it completely effortless to swap out a dull cartridge in just a few seconds. You get a perfectly smooth, clean shave right away without any complicated or stressful tugging at your skin while you are trying to clean up your jawline in front of the bathroom mirror.The toughness is excellent for an everyday grooming tool. The metal handle and five-blade heads feel nicely thick and strong, so they do not easily snap, permanently rust, or completely go dull after clearing away coarse hair just a few times. It holds up beautifully to daily shaving, heavy rinsing under the hot faucet, and normal cleaning without the lubrication strip quickly wearing away or the blades completely losing their sharp edge after just a few weeks of use. It is a very reliable razor that makes your morning routine completely stress-free. I highly recommend it if you want an affordable and simple way to keep your face looking sharp.

All these shaving products are a bit expensive. With that said, this works exactly as expected. Needed refills for my existing razor plus I get a spare shaver.
